Simple Ways to Earn Money From Blogging

To say that a blog is simply an online personal journal is already an entirely obsolete idea. For one, there are already corporate blogs which do not limit themselves on personal opinions, but also aids in effective organizational transparency and customer relation. Another reason is the fact that blogs can already provide its owners plenty of ‘monetary advantages’ which no traditional personal journal offers.
Now, some may be thinking how such ‘advantages’ are possible or if they are even ‘really’ possible. This is a normal reaction from new bloggers who only wanted to voice out their feelings through a free and personal space on the web. However, you most likely no longer belong in the mentioned group or you would not be in this page at all. Therefore, we assume that you are here to read, learn and apply to your own page the how to’s of earning from your blog so you can also enjoy the aforementioned monetary benefits. This is exactly how people from the freelance job industry think— taking advantage of the opportunities that abound the web. Below are four of the most common, quick and easy ways of earning from your blog.

Be a Blogger-for-Hire
Visit freelance bidding sites and you will find numerous job postings for for-hire-bloggers. This is the easiest way to earn from your blog by making your blog your portfolio of writing samples. Not only will it open the doors of a ‘blogging career’ for you, but it can also provide you with more writing opportunities such as article writing and web content writing. Who knows? You might even end up as the next copyblogger in the blogosphere or a certified freelance job provider!

Pay-per-Click
Google Adsense is one of the most popular ways of monetizing a blog. Pay-per-Click is considerably a ‘passive’ way to earn from your blog. Your investment will simply be to write good content in your blog and sign up for Google Adsense account. Each visitor who clicks on a Google advertisement in your blog equates to some monetary value for you. It may sound very easy for you, but if you would like to earn some good money from your blog without accepting freelance jobs, you may at least want to look into some free options to drive traffic on your site.

Affiliate Product Advertisements
Apart from Google Adsense, you can also earn from advertisements of affiliate products which are on same niche as your voice in your blog is. These advertisements are relatively attractive and will usually come in the form of banners, images and graphics. They can make your blog look credible and may help you earn from it by serving as a link to the product’s sales page. You earn a percentage of the sales amount as a commission for this kind of advertisements. Again, good content is the king and there will be not much commitment such as that on a regular freelance job.

Writing Review Pages
This will be the last one and it is considerably already a freelance job— a writing job. This way applies to those bloggers who already has established and wide readership. In this case, the affiliate product will ask you to write a review page about their product. The same review page will also contain an in-place text link ad that will route a reader to the product’s sales page once clicked.
These four ways are relatively few as compared to the plentiful opportunities that abound the work-from-home freelance job industry. They are all waiting to be grabbed and all you need is to invest some time to go over each opportunity and determine where you fit. Blogging is just one of the few. Feel free to explore.

Simple way to Optimize the Website for Bing

When it comes to doing SEO for Google then we get loads of articles, blog posts and other content on how we can optimize the website and get better rankings and traffic. But when it comes to optimizing the website for Bing then we have very less information from people on internet or World Wide Web (WWW).

Recently, Duane Forrester Senior Product Manager of Bing’s Webmaster Program organized a webinar on crawling basics. In this webinar he described factors Bing considers important before ranking any website for a particular search term.

Here is the summary of Bing crawling basics webinar describing important ranking factors for Bing:

  • Content is King: A lot of fresh and unique content is important for crawlers of Bing.
  • XML Sitemaps and RSS Feeds: Bing insists on using error free sitemap.xml. XML sitemap should not have URLs leading to 404 pages; Bingbot might ignore whole sitemap if it finds even one URL leading to 404 errors. RSS feeds are more important for Bing, by RSS feeds Bingbot will get update about latest content coming on website.
  • Robots.txt: In a survey conducted by Bing they found that most of the websites which Bingbot cannot crawl don’t have correct robots.txt file. They found that these websites have blocked crawlers from indexing the websites. So, check your robots.txt before doing SEO for the website.
  • Bounce Rate: Bing also considers bounce rate as a major ranking factor. If they find that most of the visitors are leaving a page before spending certain amount of time on that page, then they may rank down the website. So, keep a check on your bounce rate also. Make your website engaging enough for the visitors.
  • Bing Webmaster Tools: Finally, if you want to rank well on Bing then you should start using Bing webmaster tool. Benefits of using Bing Webmaster Tool are that you can have a better control on your website when it comes to indexing in Bing. Besides using an array of SEO tools like keyword research, back-link analysis etc. you can submit sitemaps, control robots.txt, URL parameters etc.

Besides all this, social media plays an important role in SEO for Bing. Hope this will help you in getting better ranks on Bing.

5 Effective Ways to Control Hunger

If you are on a diet, you need to lower your calorie intake. Sometimes people start craving for food and then the diet fails, and you end up gaining even more weight than you ever have gained before! There are a number of ways to control hunger and food cravings, and the best ones are listed below.

1. Eating fruit helps stop cravings.
Its true that eating apple or citrus fruits help stop cravings for junk food. Two 23-calorie Clementines will keep you just as full as a 200-calorie Toaster Strudel. Eating fruit will keep you from pigging out on chips or cookies, and you will love the results afterward!

2. Drink a lot of water with meals.
Drinking water with meals helps suppress the appetite and will keep you stuffed for hours on end. If you have a 400-calorie meal and 3 glasses of ice-cold water, you aren't going to need any more food for a while. Even if you still end up craving for a Twinkie or some nachos, just eat some fruit. It will make you happier to know that you can control what you eat. Once in a while, you could drink some fat-free milk. Calcium speeds up weight loss remarkably.

3. Occupy yourself with something.
If you are chatting on the phone, or playing a video game, you are not thinking about hunger at all. After a small meal, do something you enjoy. Or you could work out in the yard or anywhere else. Being occupied with anything that's time-consuming helps you control hunger.
4. Eat Bread or Crackers.
Bread, which is usually around 70 calories a slice, is a great food to suppress hunger. When eaten, the bread absorbs liquid and sits in your stomach like a sponge. This will help stop cravings for a few hours. So after a sandwich, drink a lot of water with it. The hunger will be gone before you know it. Crackers work just like bread too. They take in a lot of the liquid you drink and expand, which fills your stomach up.
5. Run or walk 30 minutes after eating.
Running and walking are great activities to not think about hunger. When your running, jogging, or walking, you have no kitchen near you, which doesn't allow you to go on a binge. Also, when you're walking, your mind will usually drift off and think about something completely different. Also, you're burning hundreds of calories, so you can always reward yourself with a little treat, but make it under 100 calories!

7 Easy Ways to Attract & Charm a Man

Trying to attract a guy isn't always easy (as we all know!), but it's also not as impossible as it feels sometimes. There are plenty of ways to attract an awesome guy without using your body, but by using your personality instead.
Personality is one of the first things people notice about you and one of the most important parts of a compatible relationship. There are lots of ways to use your wit, personality, and charm to attract a good guy.

Here are some ways.
1.      Stand tall and proud.
Self confidence is one of the biggest turn-ons out there -- for men and women alike. So, ladies, be confident, be strong, be powerful and proud of who you are. That's bound to turn more than a few heads.
2.      Think positively.
There's very little that's attractive about someone who is always a Debbie Downer -- as a friend or as a partner. Guys really dig girls who are positive and upbeat, so exude that positive vibration whenever you can!
3.      Use your eyes.
Eye contact is a key. Make sure that when you're talking to a guy you dig, use those eyes. They're the windows to the soul, after all.
4.      Smile -- but mean it.
It's such an obvious thing to do -- smile -- but it's so important. Acting aloof or bitchy isn't any way to attract a man. So strap on that smile to increase your positivity vibe!
5.      Go out in groups of women,
But no more than three, big groups of women can be very hard to approach. Three is a great number because when the guy who's digging on you walks up, your friends can keep his friends company.
6.      Dress like you care.
No, not all slutty or anything, but dress nicely, like you genuinely care about what you look like. This doesn't mean you need to look like you stepped off a runway (unless, of course, you just did), but just that you care about your appearance.

7.      Use your wits.

It's time to be charming, sarcastic and snarky without being a bitch. Guys love a funny girl, and if you've got that special snarck, well, they'll fall all over you.

How Google Ranks Blogs

Google blog search is a new tool that is gaining popularity on the Internet lately. The Blog Search might also be a good source of visitors if your blog rank on the first positions for specific keywords, but what factors does Google take into account to elaborate the search results?

The “Seo by the Sea” blog has an interesting article analyzing a new patent from Google that contains some indicators about the positive and negative factors affecting blog ranking, check it out:
Positive Factors:
  • Popularity of the blog (RSS subscriptions)
  • Implied popularity (how many clicks search results get)
  • Inclusion in blogrolls
  • Inclusion in “high quality” blogrolls
  • Tagging of posts (also from users)
  • References to the blog by sources other than blogs
  • Pagerank
Negative Factors:
  • Predictable frequency of posts (short bursts of posts might indicate spam)
  • Content of the blog does not match content of the feed
  • Content includes spam keywords
  • Duplicated content
  • Posts have all the same size
  • Link distribution of the blog
  • Posts primarily link to one page or site

6 Simple Ways to Improve Your Writing for a Blog

If you’re taking your blogging seriously, you need to think of yourself as a writer, not just ablogger.
We’ve already taken a look at why great content matter so much.In this post, I’m going to give you some simple tips for improving your writing skills.

#1: Write Regularly

The more you write, the easier writing will become. You don’t have to write every day – but writing regularly (at least a couple of times a week) will really help you improve.
If you’re struggling to find time to create blog posts, schedule your writing sessions in advance. You could even head out to a cafe for a few hours.

#2: Ask for Feedback

It’s a scary thing to do, but one of the best ways to improve is to ask for feedback on your posts. Buddy up with another blogger and ask them to tell you what’s working well and what isn’t. Make sure you return the favor when they need a hand.
If you belong to any private forums or membership sites, you could post a work-in-progress for other members to comment on.

#3: Read Thoughtfully

When you read a great blog post, don’t move straight on to the next. Stop and work out why the post was so good. You might even want to print it out so you can write in the margins.
Look at the structure – what subheadings were used? Look at the writing style – did the introduction have a compelling hook to draw you in? Find one thing that you could do in your own posts as a result of what you’ve discovered.

#4: Edit Your Writing

When you’ve finished a post, it’s tempting to hit “publish” straight away. But taking just a few minutes to edit will make a huge difference to your finished post.
If you can, leave your post alone for a day before you edit – that way, you’ll be able to spot mistakes more easily. Watch out for typos, but also pay attention to the bigger picture: you might need to spice up the introduction or swap a couple of paragraphs around in the middle.

#5: Read About Writing

There are hundreds of books and blogs about writing. Set aside some time each week for reading about writing – even if it’s just half an hour. Try to read something that you can put into practice straight away.

#6: Take a Class

If you want to improve your writing fast, take a class. That might be at your local college or online. Ideally, the syllabus should cover the sort of writing that you want to do (web writing, blogging, copywriting or similar) – but you can still learn a lot from a creative writing class.
Most classes or online courses will give you a chance to get direct feedback from the tutor: this will let you pinpoint areas for improvement in your work.
